Try using Setup.exe with the Setup.ini calling the reference to the MST and update file like this:

Re: Convert C4 files to PDF?

Hi Mr. Tyagi!

For the last few years, I have not had any problem opening ".C4" files using Acrobat Reader DC.  About 2 weeks ago, I could no longer open the .C4 files from the Defense logistics Agency (DLA).  They put out many of their technical files  using the .C4 format.

I have not had this problem and am sure I have the necessary program to open these files but it no longer automatically opens them.

Did I do something to change the method of opening them or has Adobe changed something for the files it will allow to be opened?

This is affecting my business and I need your help.

Thanks for your understanding.

Thank you! It felt like the window was hidden. I was able to view the file in full screen and minimize the window. But I couldn't find the active window.

How remove th sign in required that launches after install Acrobat

I have to create a package of Adobe Acrobat 2017 with thinapp 5.2.3, but when I launch the virtual package (Acrobat 2017), the pop-up "the sign in required" appears.

The licence is a "VolumeLicence".

Before to create the package, I create a .mst with the application "Acrobat Customization Wizard", I allow "standalone Acrobat deployment with CCE serial", select "Suppress display of End User License Agreement (EULA)" and then I launch the application : any pop-up.

Then I create a virtual package with ThinApp, but when I lauch the virtual application, the pop-up  "the sign in required" appears.

Can you help me ?

A few things:

- Can you post the registry hives dump of “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe”  & “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe” locations from the machine where it is failing.

Regarding the install....

The Setup.exe syntax was for the Acrobat Setup.exe NOT the CCP Setup.exe.   So go to the Adobe Acrobat folder that is in the CCP package and run the Setup.exe line like this:

Setup.exe /sl "1033" /sALL

Then after the Acrobat install completes run the CCP Setup.exe  with this command line:

setup.exe --silent --ADOBEINSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files (x86\)" --INSTALLLANGUAGE=en_US

This should install and provision the Acrobat as well.

If you do not have Admin privileges on the machine, then  you will need to get that or have someone who does have Admin privileges on the machine to run the lines above.

Switch default PDF reader to DC from Acrobat pro, via registry, W7 & W10 ?

I am trying to determine who *really* uses Acrobat Pro (licensing wise) and would like to force a default association of PDF files with Reader DC instead, as a way to let our environment tools (bigfix, SCCM) determine who really fires up Pro for its features and therefore really needs it (otherwise once pro is associated with PDFs it will always preempt reader and open it first, which gives us false positives on actual usage of Pro).

I know the manual ways to do file associations, possibly GPOs, but we would prefer a registry key we can push more controllably if possible... If there a key that lets you change default assignment of PDF files to open with Reader DC only (and remove Acrobat Pro as the default) - if there was we could push that to the entire environment group by group (better than GPO) which would be friendlier than uninstalling pro wholesale and see who really complains and needs it...

I looked at HKCU\SOftware\classes,  open with....

HKLM\Software \classes

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, open with

Deeper under HKLM under windows\current version\Explorer\fileext

In each case you see Reader and acrobat pro as options a or b, and a key that reads "ab" or "ba" or whatever presumably to affect order...

But I played with all those, restarted explorer, and got occasional success on Win10 but never on Win7. Looks like file associations were system based in 7 and are user based in W10, which makes it really hard...  Is this doable at all via registry ?

Or is there a simpler way, like reinstalling reader DC and forcing it to grab associations ? Just want something I can deploy to thousands of PCs and not have to ask users to repick..

Trying to launch XD CC from the Adobe Creative Cloud. Creative Cloud is installed correctly but receive "This app has been blocked by your system administrator." DC Reader usage for non-DC users

$

hi

we face a problem on multiuser devices.

User A has Arcobat DC license and gets DC software installed on his device.

user B has only READER installed on B's device.

User A now works on B's device -> DC will be installed, READER uninstalled.

User B returns and cannot work with READER included in DC installation.

What is the right procedure to provide READER to all and DC to moving users?

What I forgot!

Of course the solution should work on WIN7 and WIN10 environments.

Sorry!

I do not understand what you mean by "Reader included in DC application". There is Acrobat Reader and there is Acrobat (Pro or Standard). Both are part of the DC family.

Users need to install the software for which they have a license. The software won't just work out what to do, they are different products. If a user uses a machine temporarily with their software, they need to sign out and uninstall before returning the use of the machine.
