Acrobat 7.0 Professional Activation

Hi,

I have replaced my laptop, and want to move the Acrobat 7.0 professional to my new laptop from the old one; I used the purchased DVD to install the software and tried to activate it with the serial number on the DVD box, but failed. Activated via phone was also failed. Adobe online support claimed that Acrobat 7.0 is not supported any more...

Is there any solution about this? Thanks in advance!

PDF User preferences with Roaming User Profiles

Hello,

We are having an issue in our environment that we haven't been able to resolve. We are running Windows Server 2012 R2 terminal servers and users are using Roaming profiles. The issue we are having is that if there is more than one PDF viewer installed on the terminal servers (Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader for example) when the user chooses a default PDF application, once they log off and back on, that default preference is lost. They once again have to select their default PDF viewer, every time they log in. If there is only one PDF application installed on the server, the setting is retained without an issue. Also, if you use a local profile, even with multiple PDF viewers installed, the default setting is retained without an issue. We've tried using GPP to set the registry key to set the default viewer, however, the value has a Deny Write value applied to it. We've also tried scripting an export and import of they key upon logoff and logon respectively, however, the same issue prevents that (the deny write value on the registry). HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.pdf\UserCh oice\Progid

We've contacted Microsoft support, and they told us this was a 3rd party issue because the only file extension with this problem is the .pdf file extension. We also setup a test environment with only roaming profiles GPO setup and were able to duplicate the issue and make sure there wasn't a GPO causing this problem. Any help or guidance you could provide would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam

This doesn't seem to work.

Any other options for this?

Reader DC isn't uninstalling when I install Acrobat Pro DC

I'm working on testing Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and even though I have "Remove all versions of Reader" checked it still doesn't remove reader during the Pro DC installation process. It does remove the Acrobat Pro XI but not Reader DC. Any insight or suggestions?

[Acrobat Reader DC] HKCU registry keys are not replicated for each user as for Adobe Reader

For Adobe Reader, all the registry keys which are added with the Adobe Customization Wizard are automatically added to each user. Unfortunately, it is not the same with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

They registry keys have to be stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\2015\Installer\Migrate to be automatically added in the HKCU of the user at its first launch of the application. But they are stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\[RegistryHiveName]\Installer\Migrate, as we can see on the screenshot below:

reg.PNG

The problem is probably coming from one of the custom actions. The variable RegistryHiveName is not translated. I didn't make a lot of research, but waiting on a solution from Adobe, I made a PowerShell script which move the registry keys to the correct place:

Move-Item -Path 'HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\`[RegistryHiveName`]\Installer\Migrate\*' -Destination 'HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\2015\Installer\Migrate' -force

(PowerShell has to be executed in 32 Bits)

If Adobe can correct it in the next version, it would be nice !

Installing Adobe Reader Update & Adobe Pro Update 11.0.11

I currently use an AIP version of Pro XI, when I go to install the .msp for 11.0.11 I get the following error, " The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it." I have gotten this since update 11.0.0.7, and the only way I can get it to work is to completely uninstall and re-install and it will work fine until the next update releases. Any insight or suggestions...

I don't think you understand the problem I am having. I need to install the next update 11.0.11 cause we have to manually install the updates via the .msp since we can't automatically update these systems. I already have 11.0.10 installed. I just want to be able to run the .msp and install the next one. The 11.0.10 was installed via AIP. So are you saying if I use an AIP install that I can't just run the next update and install it on top of the previous update?

Using SCCM 2012 R2 and the Adobe Customization Wizard X for Adobe Acrobat Pro unattended install. After using the Wizard the customization is not occurring. These are not working for deployment or one off installs.

Using SCCM 2012 R2 and the Adobe Customization Wizard X for Adobe Acrobat Pro unattended install. After using the Wizard the customization is not occurring. These are not working for deployment or one off installs. If I open up the Wizard it still shows all of the customization's. The "mst" file is present in the install folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This inquiry should be in the Enterprise Deployment forum, but here are the things to post for the forum members to examine and give you feedback.

  • What is the command line that you are using to install the application from SCCM?

  • Did you create a verbose installation log using the "/L*v ["C:\FOLDER_PATH\AcroInstall.log"] syntax?

Example:

msiexec /i AcroPro.msi TRANSFORMS="AcroPro.mst" /qb /L*v c:\acrobat.log

  • Was this a newly created MST file or are you attempting to use one from a previous installation?

Re: How do I get the standard Windows Save As dialog box back in Acrobat DC?

+1 on this, but for Mac in may case. The new Save As dialogue is, as you say, "clunky and takes way too many steps to do a simple Save As".

I wish software developers could stick to standards and not try to invent new stuff just for the sake of it. My workflow is significantly slower with DC than with previous versions, and that's not because I'm not used to the new looks and features. Please, Adobe, bring back the standard dialogue, or provide a way for us users to select which one we want.

Edit->Preferences->General

Depending on what you want - turn off: Show online storage when opening files, Show online storage when saving files

Wow, thanks. Maybe that setting could get a more descriptive label, such as "Use standard Save As dialogue" or something. Whether the dialogue shows online stuff or not is, to me, a totally different issue.
