and when it is published to an endpoint this happenspub.PNG

the only reason I am doing this is when we are trying to open up a pdf in outlook it is giving an access denied error but when you turn off enable protected mode at startup it works fine.

Hi Krista,

I'm guessing the outlook error could be a bug, though I haven't heard of such an issue. Protected Mode should work transparently in the background.

The changed PM setting in an AppV environment also seems odd. Make sure you are following the deployment guidelines here: App-V Deployment: Acrobat DC — Enterprise Administration Guide. Meanwhile, I'll ping some folks on my end for some ideas. . .

Not all settings in Customization wizard are passed on to Reader DC installs

I created an MST file for my company installation of Adobe Reader DC.  I am installing DC using SCCM and it installs fine, but the Protected View and Privileged Locations settings do not carry over into the installation.  Some settings do carry over, so I know the MST file is being read.  Also, if I open the MST file in Notepad, I can see some of the Privileged Location URL's listed so I know the info is in there, but it isn't getting used during the install.

Same thing happens if I run the install from the command line, so I know SCCM is not the culprit.  Anyone else have this issue?

Any ideas?

I turned on logging and when I just tried to open a pdf from a file share I received the same access denied error, and this is what is in the logs, if i uncheck protected mode on startup it will work:

Thanks Yatharth, but this tome of documentation doesn't fix my problem.  It merely tells me what I already know.  What I DON'T know is why Reader DC ignores certain settings in the MST file.

Do YOU know?

Can you share your MST for Reader on a public location?

MST file is here:

Dropbox - Public

I edited the MST file to take out a few of my internal server names that I didn't want public.

This appears to be a UI bug.  The Privileged Locations don't show up in the UI of the Acrobat Reader DC client but DO show up in the Windows Registry FeatureLockdown hive.

Example:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\FeatureLockDown\cTrustedFolders\cAlwaysTrustedForJavaScript]

"t2_recursive"="K:\\"

"t1_recursive"="G:\\"

"t0_recursive"="F:\\"

Shared computer licensing - Adobe Acrobat DC Pro

I have a couple conference rooms and shared computers throughout my organization. We recently transitioned to the Enterprise Named License Adobe Acrobat DC Pro subscription. Does the shared computers in the conference rooms and other areas need a named license associated to in order to active and register the product?

I guess you are right.  I just looked at a couple of computers that I deployed it to and their registries all have the correct entries.  I'll continue my deployment.

Is this something you can submit to have fixed in a later version?

Thanks

I bug is filed and I'm sure it will be fixed.

"An error has occurred with the team invitation."

I've deployed several Acrobat DC licenses successfully by assigning them to users in my organization.  One user in particular is presented with the following after following the email invitation link and signing in to DC:

     unknown-error.png

"Unknown Error: An error has occurred with the team invitation.  Please talk with your team administrator."

I've tried reclaiming his license and reassigning one, but he gets the same result.  I'm at a loss to troubleshoot this further, as there is no significant difference between the process for his installation and those that I've already completed successfully.

Migrating to an enterprise account

I have a single Acrobat Pro DC subscription, and I'd like to turn that into a pooled license where I can include other people in my firm, and where I can administer the pool.  Is there a path for this?

Hi rreece999,

You need to Contact Customer Care in order to make changes in the subscription. Make sure you sign in with your Adobe ID under which you have subscription and select product from the list below.

Then click on chat option under "Still need help? Contact us".

AdobeDC in an Enterprise - deployment settings assistance

Good day,

We are looking to upgrade to Adobe Acrobat DC* and have discovered a dramatically different setup and activation than in prior versions.  Is there a guide to enterprise deployment that would help us set it up as a stand-alone desktop application similar to previous versions (i.e. no cloud integration, activation in the background, turn off auto updates, etc.)?  We manage the app updates through SCCM in our environment.

Thanks for your help!

*upgrade would ideally require no user intervention and all installation processes=silent
