I am trying to move my copy of Acrobat 9 Pro to a replacement laptop system, but the serial
number I have does not seem to work for the installation. It's XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX,
and I got it using Belarc Advisor so I know it's correct. But I get told it's incorrect. How can I find the "real" one?
This is a version from a company department license to Broadcom Corporation TechPubs, where I work as a tech writer.

Thanks Steve. Disclaimer: Please understand how beyond frustrated I am at this point and that obviously I don't know you and nothing I reply back is meant to be hostile towards you personally, so please don't take anything I write personally! I've just tried so many combination of options and have received back what I consider to be inconsistent or even random results from the Adobe licensing servers (when parsing through the AMT3.log files) to where I'm now convinced there is nothing I'm actually doing wrong, but that in fact the problem is a result of buggy Adobe code.
I can certainly write a few dozen more paragraphs and answer individual questions back and forth over the coming weeks for as long as it takes, and it might come to that, but honestly, here's where I'm at. If you or anyone on the planet can answer this particular question, it might very well solve the entire case for me.
On computers where the serialization properly activates, here are the relevant lines in the AMT3.log file:

Note: I changed the values on the last lines by using the # character.
So basically, when things go wrong, for reasons I have yet to figure out, the "MUL" isn't being added and the licensing fails. As I said, though, there have been computers where I've deleted the resulting .swidtag file (that does NOT have -MUL in the filename either) and re-launched Acrobat DC (sometimes repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse) and eventually had it magically end up working; adding the -MUL to the .swidtag file and the AMT3.log file had the lines that added V7{}CreativeCloudEnt-1.0-Win-GM after "unused = " and had the "; MUL" added on the "Tags Arguments" line and of course the status being activated.
To get varying results from the licensing servers from one launch of the program to the next doesn't seem like it should have anything to do with the computer in question, but a problem on the back-end. However, if this is a simple thing, a checkbox I shouldn't be checking or an option I should be setting, or if there are left-over configuration files and/or registry values that are confusing the licensing process, even better, since obviously there is nothing at all I can do about it if the licensing servers are somehow broken.

Based on my experience, the Belarc Advisor software doesn't necessarily provide the full or actual serial numbers of installed software.
I assume that you know that you can't simply move software from one system to another. You will need to fully install the software via the proper installer which may be serial number sensitive.
Also note that Acrobat 9 Pro is a very old version that is (1) no longer supported by Adobe and (2) may or may not properly install or fully execute on Windows 10 (I assume that a new laptop system will likely have either Windows 10 or possibly Windows 7. Acrobat 9 certainly does not support PDF creation with the last several versions of Microsoft Office with Acrobat's PDFMaker feature.
Since you are dealing with a corporate license, I would most strongly recommend that you go to your corporate IT folks at Broadcom and have them assist you directly.

My new system uses Windows 7, as does the old one. And 9 Pro works with Office 2010. But I see your point about
the OS compatibility being a future factor. (And I did know SW needs to be installed, not moved.)
However, I did not know Belarc had that weakness--I got three other Adobe serial numbers from it that all
worked. And someone from support told me that the serial # I provided was for 9 Pro. If there's a
better tool to obtain the real serial # in my old system, what would you recommend?
Because our TechPubs group then was fairly large (20-ish), this installation was part of a corporate purchase, and ever since
our company has been acquired we no longer have access to that information. That does imply that we are not the same
customer anymore, doesn't it, so maybe we it's fair that we should have purchase Acrobat PC.
Anyway, I appreciate your observations, and I'm just sorry that such a reliable old locomotive has been put in the shed.

We are having this same issue. We found that removing Adobe, updating a Dell NIC driver and then reinstalling provided a solution but now a month later are seeing the problem again. Con you say what your environment related issue was?

I realise it is possible to disable tools with the registry key [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\<product name>\<version>\FeatureLockDown\AcroApp\cDisabled]
However, I wasn't able to deactivate the "Create Custom Tool".

How to request initial (or resending of the initial) Enterprise Dashboard invite?
We have been using the Adobe Licensing Website to obtain our Adobe software serial numbers and to download the relevant software media, for all our Adobe software license purchases (all Acrobat Std. licenses). Recently, we purchased 2 new Acrobat (DC2015) 12.0 ESD (standard) licenses, via our software supplier (CDW). As per normal, we received the Adobe License confirmation emails, and were then able to download the software and obtain the serial numbers from our Adobe Licensing Website account.
The Acrobat 12 software installed without any issue, however, it will only run with very limited use, as it says the software needs to be registered (or have an adobe account id signed in, with an associated active license). We tried signing in using my Adobe ID, which is the same Adobe ID used for our Adobe Licensing Website account, but there is no products listed to that ID (when manage products is selected).
Eventually, I figured that we needed to use the Adobe Enterprise Dashboard, to allocate the relevant license to the Adobe user ID of whom will be logged in while using the software. However, it appears as though I do not have an Adobe Enterprise Dashboard account for our company (I am the only admin contact for the company). I'm not sure if I was sent an initial invite from Adobe, as I cannot locate any email referring to that.
So, I am wondering how do I go about requesting Enterprise Dashboard access for our company? (Ive been searching the adobe pages, but could not find any info on how to gain initial access)

This user has special settings to see better. They are using 150% magnification in Windows 7 and 1400x900 resolution on a 24" monitor. This will also look like this if I remote onto her computer with our ManageEngine DesktopCentral software. How do we get the main window of Adobe to be the correct size?

Within the last month my payroll that comes in a PDF file has not been able to open on my iPhone or iPad as before. I've thought that the adobe maybe not the same version as the one used before. My laptop has no issue. I purchased the adobe acrobat application as a means to be able to work on the fly, if this feature is not available than the subscription is of little use to my busy lifestyle. Anyone having an answer I would much appreciate it.

Seems like this issue: Acrobat XI opens in trial mode or shows serial number screen even though you are a subscriber
Strange to note is that a local installation with the same serial number on a desktop seems to work ok...
