Re: Prevent Acrobat update from installing the Chrome extension

Hi brogers123, thanks for replying. However, I'm not seeing a setting there that will prevent the installer from automatically installing the Chrome add-in, but would still allow a user to install it on their own if they wanted to use it. The only setting I'm seeing related to Chrome at all is "bAcroSuppressOpenInReader", which seems like it will block the extension completely.

Hi,

Serialization of Acrobat DC via customization wizard is not the recommended way for OS imaging scenarios.

Please try the below steps

1. Generate a prov.xml file on any machine connected to internet using the following APTEE tool command line:

"adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial=<serialnum> --leid=<LEID of product> --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress

[--locales=list of locales in xx_XX format or ALL>] [--provfilepath=<Absolute folder path to prov.xml>]"

2. Customize Acrobat package using customization wizard for all other changes except serialization (do not enter serial and do offline exception in customization wizard).

3. Install the customized Acrobat DC  via setup.exe on the image.

4. Copy the prov.xml file created in step 1 on the image and run following APTEE command

     "adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize [--provfile=<Absolute path to prov.xml>] --stream"

5. Launch Acrobat for about a minute

6. Now use this image for deployment.

Please revert back in case of any issues

Thanks

Ravi

Hi,

Can you share with us the Reader version and the OS you are using?

Meanwhile, from the description you provided it looks like you have associated all .exe's with Adobe Reader and made it as the default association. That's why all applications on your desktop are trying to open themselves with Adobe Reader.

To fix this issue, you will have to change the default associations for all files with the extension .exe. Can you please try the steps in the below mentioned link:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950505 (For Vista and Win7 OS)

Also you can follow the steps provided in the Adobe helpx page.

https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/application-file-icons-change-acrobat.html

Please let us know if that fix the issue.

Adobe Acrobat DC and XenApp 7.6 - User Licensing

$

Hi,

We have a Citrix XennApp 7.6 Farm and we want to deploy Adobe Acrobat DC with user licensing.

I already deploy the application on my test server but i would like to know the way to manage user licensing.

Actually,

The first user who launch the application is asked to enter his user account to validate the license,

The next user is not asked to enter his user account.

Could you say me if each user have to log in ? if they don't, do they will have a warning after 30 days ?

Other requests about licence account :

Could we delete a licence account from the manager and give this licence to another user ?

Hi,

Serialization of Acrobat XI via customization wizard is not the recommended way for OS imaging scenarios.

5. Launch Acrobat for about a minute.

6. Now use this image for deployment.

Please revert back in case of any issues.

Thanks,

Robin

Serial number invalid

Have a serial number that I got from a users previous computer. It will not activate on their new computer.

If it was purchased as a volume license, how can I find what account it was associated with?

Re: Serial number invalid

you need to use the volume licensed installation file, not the single user installation file.

Your answer was completely correct.

I used the Microsoft solution.

When launching Acrobat Pro DC on a second computer the customer tries to sign in with her enterprise ID and gets an 'Access Denied - You do not have access to this service' error.

I have removed and re-installed the application and get the same error. PC is running Windows 7 Enterprise 64Bit.

Hi Cedric PERREAU HISI,

Have you tried below steps for Acrobat deployment ?.

  1. Log in to master image.
  2. (Optional) Customize the installer with the Customization Wizard.
  3. Install Acrobat on the master image with the following command:

Setup.exe  /sALL /msi ROAMIDENTITY=1 ROAMLICENSING=1

  1. If Type 3 sign-in (using enterprise IDs provided by an admin) or connectors (like Dropbox) are required, enable third party cookies:
    1. Choose Internet Explorer > Settings > Internet Options > Privacy > Advanced.
    2. For First-party cookies, choose Accept.
    3. For Third-party cookies, choose Accept.
  2. Shut down the master image.
  3. Take a snapshot of the master image.
  4. Update all VM desktops using the captured snapshot.

Can't use the program

How to request initial (or resending of the initial) Enterprise Dashboard invite?

$

We have been using the Adobe Licensing Website to obtain our Adobe software serial numbers and to download the relevant software media, for all our Adobe software license purchases (all Acrobat Std. licenses).  Recently, we purchased 2 new Acrobat (DC2015) 12.0 ESD (standard) licenses, via our software supplier (CDW).  As per normal, we received the Adobe License confirmation emails, and were then able to download the software and obtain the serial numbers from our Adobe Licensing Website account.

The Acrobat 12 software installed without any issue, however, it will only run with very limited use, as it says the software needs to be registered (or have an adobe account id signed in, with an associated active license).  We tried signing in using my Adobe ID, which is the same Adobe ID used for our Adobe Licensing Website account, but there is no products listed to that ID (when manage products is selected).

Eventually, I figured that we needed to use the Adobe Enterprise Dashboard, to allocate the relevant license to the Adobe user ID of whom will be logged in while using the software.  However, it appears as though I do not have an Adobe Enterprise Dashboard account for our company (I am the only admin contact for the company).  I'm not sure if I was sent an initial invite from Adobe, as I cannot locate any email referring to that.

So, I am wondering how do I go about requesting Enterprise Dashboard access for our company? (Ive been searching the adobe pages, but could not find any info on how to gain initial access)

Thanks in advance for the assistance!

This user has special settings to see better. They are using 150% magnification in Windows 7 and 1400x900 resolution on a 24" monitor. This will also look like this if I remote onto her computer with our ManageEngine DesktopCentral software. How do we get the main window of Adobe to be the correct size?

The virtual package for Adobe Acrobat XI suddenly asks for a serial number precisely after 8 months.

Acrobat Pro 9

I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 several years ago for personal, non-business use.  About 2 years ago, i purchased an new multipurpose printer, scanner, fax.  I discarded the previous printer which was installed in Acrobat as the device from which to scan a document.  I cannot delete that old printer or add the new printer in

Acrobat for the purpose of Creating PDF from Scanner.  I have uninstalled Acrobat and reinstalled it, thinking that the new printer/scanner would be installed, but that did not occur.  Is it possible to delete an old printer/scanner and/or add a new printer scanner?
