Re: Adobe Update Issues

I can't comment on the documentation but CC notoriously does not understand Acrobat very well. For example it suggests users of an earlier permanent license copy "update", leaving them with an unlicensed subscription copy and nothing else. Of course a normal subscriber to full CC would be fine, because unlike all the other CC elements, Acrobat would be continuously updating: the CC app has nothing to do. But let's wait to hear from someone who knows more than I, which wouldn't take much...

I am having the exact same problems as Hermann. Adobe Reader DC Version 2018.011.20035 deployed through GPO, same settings as Hermann on the 'Online Services and Features' section of the Customization Wizard. Any advice?

I had read somewhere that if you don't accept the EULA that updates are not enabled. Could the 'Suppress display of End User License Agreement (EULA)' option being checked under the 'Personalization Options' section of the Acrobat Customization Wizard be causing an issue?

Protected View Enabled For Local Admin, But Not Domain Users

When logged into the local admin account on Windows 7 x64 where Acrobat Standard 2015 was installed, Acrobat opens PDFs in the browser in Protected View as I have configured it.  But when I logon to a domain account (accounts both with and without admin rights), the browser does not open the documents in Protected View as Reader does. We need to deploy Acrobat across the organization and have it behave consistently in Protected View.  DC Customization Wizard was used to create the build.  I have double-checked HKCU for conflicting entries for these settings.  Enhanced Security shows as enabled on the Security tab and "Protected View" shows that it is turned on for "Files from unsafe locations" (also tried changing that value to 2 for All files without any change in the issue).

Registry:

bEnhancedSecurityStandalone = 1

bEnhancedSecurityInBrowser = 1

bProtectedMode = 1

iProtectedView =1

Local Admin (software installed under this account for testing purposes):

Copy opened in Acrobat was saved to local desktop using IE.

Domain User Account on same PC...just log off/on:

Our client has a Terminal Server environment with Microsoft Windows 2008 Operating system and they use Adobe Pro XI product on their server. For some reason, the Adobe will ask them to sign in/register every day. I tried to uninstall and re-install the product by downloading it from the login portal, but it gave me some errors which said: "ERROR 1911. Could not register". I have the screenshots if you need them.

After I install when the users are trying to open any .pdf files the document will be closed and adobe registry screen will pop-up

Same issue here.  GPO rollout via msi was done in Jan 2017.  All clients updated without an issue until 2018.009.20050 where all stopped with this error.  New GPO deployed to test clients (2018.011.20035) results in the same behaviour.

did you use the app from here https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and to install your acrobat?

if not, use your control panel to uninstall acrobat

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

install the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials
