Confirmation of activated product - Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 (Classic)

$

Hi there, we have a customized (mst) version of Adobe acrobat Pro 2017 which requires our users to create Adobe ID to sign in and activate the product.

My question is when signing into our Adobe account online should we see Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 under 'My plans?' If it doesn't show up there, is there anyway to tell that the product is active before a potential trial expiry message appears? We have the serial entered as part of the customization and internet access to activate/verify.

Ordinarily I would expect to see it under the Help/About menu but I don't see confirmation of activation anywhere.

Just a bit confused!

Thanks

Sign In Required prompt for DC Classic Std/Pro

$

We have some users that have recently started receiving a "Sign In Required" for DC Classic Std/Pro.  Adobe had been working fine for these users for months prior.  We push out the Adobe install as well as the updates via SCCM.  The installer was created years ago and still works to this day.  The only part of the package that changes periodically (whenever Adobe releases an update) is the updated .msp file to deploy the most recently Adobe Acrobat update.  But the base AcroPro.msi and AcroPro.mst files have remained the same.  I've looked at the .msi file via the Adobe Customization Wizard DC and it has the correct serial key, and offline exception, all Online Services and Features are disabled, but again, nothing has changed and it has been working for years.

I've searched the forums and tried the following, none of which have worked.

1.  Repairing Adobe Acrobat Classic

2.  Reinstalling Adobe Acrobat Classic

3.  Running the following from elevated command prompt: adobe_prtk --tool=Serialize --leid=V7{}AcrobatESR-12-Win-GM --serial=SerialKey --regsuppress=ss

     a.  This returns code 0, which is good, but the Sign In Required prompt returned for the user the following day.

Is there anything else we can try?

Thanks,

Ben

Why do our users keep being ask to activate during the day sometimes multiple times per session.

We are currently having an issue with Activation. Sometimes our users will be asked to activate Adobe multiple times during a session.

We are running a Citrix XenDesktop environment and have about 10 people using Adobe in this server. The server is non persistent so after every reboot all configuration is wiped. AppData is redirected per user, so If a setting is saved there it will be available the next time they sign in.

Where to get MSI file for GPO deployment?

Where I can find the MSI file to deploy via Active Directory GPO?

On Integrated Adobe document cloud api for O365 has error for PDF contains 2byte character file name

I am using Office 365 and Acrobat Pro for team.

Also integrated adobe document cloud api to O365 Sharepoint.

On Sharepoint, if I upload PDF file which has 2byte character file name(my case Korean character), it won't open on O365.

Also sharing link does not work either.

See the Enterprise Deployment Toolkit for how to extract the MSI, once you have a deployment license. Don't overlook the MSP also.

Option to try Acrobat Pro DC free for 7 days

Hi.

I was wondering if there is any way to remove the section that lets users try the Acrobat Pro DC free for 7 days?

Some kind of registry key or using Customization wizard.

Where is the full package offline installer so I can test deployment of Acrobat Pro DC subscription?

2 hours so far.... 2 hours and still no install files to determine if this software is even fit for our purpose.

Honestly, How hard is it to get access to the offline installation media?

Its trial software... it stops working after 7 days!

If its THIS much hassle, just to get to see if the trial software even works... what is going to be like once we've paid our money?

In the 2 hours I've been chasing support (who happily dodge the question or require me to interact with the "Specialist Deployment Team"), I've downloaded AND installed 3 other vendors PDF software from full package installers.

Can you guess where Acrobat is coming in the list for our software & deployment evaluation...

Hi Kelly,

All of the installers are available for download (see Acrobat-Reader Enterprise Toolkit Home ), and it seems like you know that. I'm not sure what the problem is. It appears you're installed trial version works OK for 7 days, but you're looking for a longer testing period. Is that correct?

For the paid product, you have to either pay for it or install the trial which has an expiration date. What are you trying to accomplish that reinstalling the trial won't do?

I know that the installers exist - I don't know where they are in the massively convoluted website**.

If they were sooo obvious, why didn't the multiple CSRs manage to direct me to them?

You still only managed to direct me to the site above the FTP site... instead of where the current installer is.  Which for anyone else isftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/AcrobatDC/1801120058/AcrobatDCUpd1801120058.msp

One CSR managed to link me to http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/APRO/Acrobat_HelpX/win32/Acrobat_DC_Web_WWMUI.exe which is different again to where you directed me to - so which one is it??

**So convoluted that you cant even have a side by side comparison of Acrobat Pro and Standard.

Plans and pricing: Compare versions | Adobe Acrobat DC

Buts thanks again for dodging the actual issue...

Scenario

A user wants to check out some software, it must be offline deployable and administered centrally.

There's 2 elements here; is it a fit for the Users purpose, is it a fit for Organisations purpose.

IT then (try to) grab a trial copy from the vendors to test with in a test environment... it doesn't get installed on users PCs.

IT then disappears into the mess of just getting the software from one vendor - something 3 other vendors could do without resorting to helpdesk and chat sessions and requiring credit card numbers and personal information - none of which is required for me to just test the software.

We are not enterprise sized, we don't have departments that can burn hours getting this information.

I've downloaded and installed 3 other vendors products in less time than its taken me to just get a trial download out of Adobe.

If you think that this is just a rant from one guy... do some searches of the Adobe forums or further afield - I'm not the only who cant get the information.

Not dodging, just confused.

  • Yes, the link I provided points to an FTP site.
  • Yes, those are the latest, actual installers.
  • There are no other installers.
  • You can install the product licensed or as a trial.
  • If you don't provide a license, then the product automatically installs as a trial.
  • Any product can be deployed across an org on machines that are offline as long as it is activated/licensed first. Admins typically license/register/accept the EULA prior to deployment so users aren't bothered with those details.

That's the best answer I can give you  based on your reply, but I admit I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish that's difficult. If you want to install the product offline, unlicensed, and not in trial mode, then that's not possible.

These are the latest installers:

And the saga continues...

Where is the exe or msi amongst this??

Everything in there is an Upgrade patch (msp file) that requires the application to already be installed...
