The JS API is only for removing menu items in drop down menus. There is no way to remove the icons from the main UI toolbar.

You could make a feature request, but given that any user could simply use another email program or the web to circumvent the restriction, it's unlikely to be seen as having much value. However, you never know:

Well, don't forget, in our environment users do not have access to the file itself, it is simply served up through our application. so they can't just navigate to a PDF file and manually attach it. That is where the security benefit comes into play.

It's not working, the commands keep trying to install Adobe Reader on the workstation instead of just extracting the files.

Hi rumajj,
As per the issue description mentioned above, you are facing issue when trying to launch Acrobat, is that correct?
Try resetting Acrobat's preferences for the user using the steps given in this link: How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default. reboot the machine after resetting preferences and try again.

As per the issue description mentioned above, you want to add user to your Acrobat Std license, is that correct?
You can manage the users added using the steps given in this help document: Manage Users. If you assign an admin role or a product profile to users, they receive an email notification. Users must follow the link to complete their profile, if prompted.

How to Install Acrobat Pro on server 2016 core?
I have an AEM system that requires Acrobat Pro 2017 be installed for form conversions and the system is running on Server 2016 Core. When i try and run the setup.exe from command line nothing happens. When i run acrobat.msi from command line it pops up and says you must have internet explorer 7 or higher installed. IE is not a feature you can install on Server Core. Does anyone know a way around this or maybe another product like Adobe Pro will work? I'm using Acrobat Pro 2017 because that come with the AEM 6.4 package.

Acrobat Pro DC 15.006 will not read smart card
Hello family!
I am having a major issue with our Adobe Acrobat Pro DC! We are unable to sign any documents with our smart card. It does not recognize that there is a smart card plugged in at all. I have tried the trusted certificates, i have attempted to remove security (it's greyed out due to policy). We just got on windows 1709 win10 image and are struggling to get this resolved.
Here is the error:
The Windows Cryptographic Service Provider reported an error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
Error Code:31
We have tried several smart card readers, tried changing the certs. Nothing is working. I did notice that the certificate I normally use has a yellow exlamation mark but even when selecting a good certificate and go to sign the document it does not see any cards in the reader.
Thoughts?

Adobe Customization Wizard FTP login broken
Trying to download the latest Adobe Customization Wizard because, of course, the old version won't work with the new programs. Getting the FTP login but my Adobe login nor 'anonymous' username don't work. the response says the FTP site cannot be reached. This same issue occurred a year ago and was supposed to have been resolved, but today is a new day.
Where can I download the Adobe Customization Wizard?

This has never been an issue on Adobe's side, and nothing has changed wrt to the ftp server in many years. Try again, go outside the network, or use a different machine.
If it wasn't working (and it is), there would be numerous reports here as this is also how many people get the actual product.

Acrobat is not technically suitable for any server or background use, and is not licensed for server use. Does your AEM system really expect you to install it on a server? Sounds odd.

It does sound odd, but for forms Generation it is listed as a requirement.
Install third-party applications
The following list contains non-AEM forms applications that PDF Generator can use for PDF generation on the server side. If you use any of these applications with PDF Generator, before configuring the PDF Generator, ensure that these non- AEM forms applications and AEM forms are installed on the same machine:
- Microsoft Office Word
- Microsoft Office Excel
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint
- Microsoft Office Project
- Microsoft Office Visio
- Microsoft Office Publisher
- AutoDesk AutoCAD
- Adobe Acrobat Professional
I opened a ticket with adobe support about another issue and was informed that the PDF generation portion of AEM is not supported on Server 2016 core so I guess this almost makes this a non issue at this point. I appreciate your input though.
