Issues with Acrobat DC Pro (2015) on Terminal Server running WS2012 R2

Dear Community,

We run a local-domain based Terminal Server 2012 R2 as a HyperV VM guest, with thin clients connecting to it.

The same was happening when TS was running as a VMware guest on ESXi 6.5 host.

All users use Adobe Acrobat DC Pro (2015) in parallels with some other 3rd party solutions, i.e. Worldox GX4 is one of those.

Staff is opening PDF files and then editing, running OCR or just highlighting parts of documents they wish to come back to later.

However, we have noticed that quite often and in files of varying size and complexity (from single page, all text to hundreds of pages, content-rich documents) after a while open PDF file will just go blank?

All highlighting lost, all editing changes lost etc.

The only way to go back to the file is to close Acrobat and re-open the file, hoping some changes have been saved.

The only way we can prevent this  is by frequently saving the file which is being manipulated at the time.

However, it's very inconvenient for our staff to focus on having to save changes every couple of minutes, rather than work.

We initially thought this may be due to corrupt Terminal Server profile, but that can be excluded now.

We also supposed it may do with the low available RAM - server is assigned 32 GB, but it's never in use over 70%.

Any ideas?

Problème verrouillage de certains champs formulaire PDF à signature

Bonjour,

Cordialement

Hi there,

I'm a software packager working with my local government. Basically I have a license key for Acrobat 2016 DC Pro and was wondering if there was any way to get a direct download link to the installer so I can package it for deployment on the network

Are you using a deployment package with an MST created/modified by the Adobe Customization Wizard DC?

Hi suzannes,

As per the issue description mentioned above, PDF file will go blank when kept open for a while in acrobat, is that correct?

Have you tried to reproduce this issue with other files and formats?

Also, try adding the network location under priviledge location and check if that helps. Refer to the steps given in the following help document for the same: Enhanced security setting for PDFs, Adobe Acrobat

Also, try the suggestion given in the following forum thread discussing the similar issue:

Performance issue viewing PDF files over Terminal server using Reader or Acrobat

Issues with Blank pages in large PDF's Acrobat XI Pro

Let us know if you need any help.

Adobe Reader DC Updates via Configuration Manager SCUP

Hi all,

I'm experiencing an issue with Acrobat Reader updates via Configuration Manager (and SCUP 2017).

Basically, this is the SCENARIO:

- CM CB 1802

- SCUP 2017 already synced with CM

The followings are updates already published on SCUP

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Update 19.008.20081

UpdateSecurityCriticalAPSB18-40APSB18-4007/11/2018 03:21:5414/11/2018 16:47:48

The same updates (also with some other Flash Player one) have already been synced correctly with SCCM, reported in the SCCM console, added to a Software Update Group and deployed as available to a collection.

When I open Software Center on a target client, both type of updates are displayed correctly.

Once I click on "Install" both updates are downloaded into the ccmcache folder in a CAB file format, but:

- FlashPlayer Updates are installed correctly

- Acrobat Reader Updates report a 1603 error (looking into the event viewer)

I've already tried to:

- Install updates on my own using the CAB file, but the event viewer reports the same error

- Unzip the CAB into the MSU file type, install the MSU file, but always the same error

Could you please give me any suggestion about that?

Thanks in advance,

Andrea

Re: Buttons inside the GUI of Acrobat Distiller are misplaced when deploying with German license. How to fix that?

Hi christophl,

As per the issue description mentioned above, radio buttons on the interface are misplaced when launching distiller in German language, is that correct?

We were able to reproduce the issue with Acrobat Standard 2017 and a bug has been logged for the same.

Thanks,

-Shivam

When does it ask? Can you show a screen shot (DON'T email it! And remove personal info please)?

Hi,

I read the MS KB that explains the 1603 error but I'm not a newbie of Windows software installation and I'm very confident using and installing software in general.

So I don't find useful the article that you've posted.

Exactly the current installed version on client is the 18.009.20044 (installed via SCCM Application) and I've tried publishing the 2 versions that you can see in my original post above.

I can also say that I've implemented the Adobe GPO that removes the Update Button, but I've already tried to distribute the update deleting this GPO, but still doesn't work.

Thanks,

Andrea

Thanks for your suggestion, I can try solution not before tomorrow.

Can you please tell me how can I know if I'm using MUI or not?

Thanks,

Andrea

I don't know how to check, if your records don't show. MUI means it includes all languages in the one app. But both the MUI and non-MUI are on the all-updates page so you can try both.

Hi,

I've tried to install the MSP file from your link, and this is the error reported:

If you're not able to translate from Italian error box, I try to do it for you: "Error during the patch application of file …. .tmp. File has been probably updated in other way or it cannot be updated by this patch. For additional information you can contact the patch supplier".

Current installed version is:

Did you try both the MSP and non-MSP patch? If neither one works, it sounds as if a custom install was used, and a custom patch must be made by the same method.
