Re: Is there a "Third Party Updates" catalog list for adobe products for SCCM usage?

Re: Is there a "Third Party Updates" catalog list for adobe products for SCCM usage?

Hi,

I have the same issue. I'm running SCCM current branch 1810 and I've added the adobe reader third party update for a customer today.

updates get imported from WSUS but when I try and approve them for use there is a check carried out on the cert validity. In the log file I get this

Adobe Cert Log.PNG

When I added the third party catalog there was a cert to be approved and that is still in my allow list and not blocked. The below settings have been used in the third party updates config.

Third Party Update setup.PNG

Can I get an update on whether a cert is going to be issued for content signing or will I need to do this manually for the customer?

Thanks

Andrew

Re: Why are there such big differences in the size of the msp files if they are both all languages and why is the DC msp over 200MB and the exe is 150MB?

I doubt anyone knows, or even noticed. Adobe push a button, it makes MSP files and EXEs. They contain what they need to - what changed. MSPs are cumulative, so each time a new module or support file is edited, it will get bigger.

Sorry to hear about your poor experience with the service. keb-dagblad

The information shared with you by the support rep. was correct. We do not see any Acrobat DC subscription or license registered under your current Adobe account. The only license we could see was for the Adobe Design Std., which doesn't include Acrobat DC (newer version in it) apart from that there is one canceled team subscription of Acrobat Std DC.

Not sure from were you have been trying to install the CC apps. Please contact to our customer care team via Contact Customer Care or check private message for more contact details.

Have you performed the troubleshooting steps given by the chat support person Error exit code 6, exit code 7 installing Adobe Creative Cloud  in help doc here?

Thanks,

Akanchha

As I told Adobe Support many times in our conversion, I work in the company Aller Holding A/S which have Adobe Enterprise.

I use my email keb@dagbladet.no as log in. As I have always done.

Some years ago, my company Dagbladet had an Adobe Team account.

When Dagbladet was bought by Aller Holding, all CC accounts were transferred to their Enterprise account.

I suspect my problem to install Acrobat DC have to do with Mojave OS on my other mac.

Have no problem with Acrobat DC on MacBook Pro with High Sierra.

And, all other CC apps are working my macs.

I have done all steps several times: uninstall, CC cleaner and reinstall.

Automatic Adobe Approved Trusted Certificates Updates?

$

Good afternoon,

First post on Adobe forums and I couldn't find an answer to this anywhere.

We have Adobe Reader DC deployed to all of our users. We need to load the trusted root certificates from an Adobe Server. Clicking "Update Now" works, which is great because we get the certificates and our issue is resolved. However, we need to do this for all users.

To try and achieve this, I made 2 changes:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\Security\cDigSig\cAdobeDownload - bAskBeforeInstalling

Changed from 1 to 0

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\Security\cDigSig\cAdobeDownload - bLoadSettingsFromURL

Changed from 0 to 1

The effect of these 2 Registry changes was to tick the box for "Load trusted root certificates from an Adobe server" and to untick the box for "Ask before updating". These settings are found in Adobe Reader under Edit > Preferences > Trust Manager.

These changes do not result in the certificates being downloaded though; but only seem to set the tick boxes as desired. So I'm wondering, how do we effectively click the "Update Now" for all users? Is there a Registry change that we can do for this as well?

Currently, we have just 1 Certificate under Edit > Preferences > Signatures > More (under Identities & Trusted Certificates). We get many, many more after clicking "Update Now".

Thanks to anyone who can offer any help/advice.

Chris

Adobe Reader send email function not working and question about MAPI

Upgraded from Adobe Reader 11 to Reader DC on xenapp6.5 farm with Server 2008R2(64bit) and office (64)

GPO to implement the outlook64bridge registry fix(see below link) has been in place since Adobe Reader 11 was installed.

cannot send email with microsoft outlook 2010 (64 bit) from Adobe ; outlook not recognised as default email client

However, now when the user logs on the HKCU\Software\clients\mail default key is set to outlook64bridge which then points to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\OLMAPI32.DLL" and Adobe Reader DC is unable to send the email and says default email application is unknown

outlook64bridge reg settings:

DLLPath: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\OLMAPI32.DLL

DLLpatchEX: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\OLMAPI32.DLL

Once I launch outlook then the key HKCU\Software\clients\mail "default" is changed to Microsoft Outlook which then uses the settings in HKLM\Software\clients\mail\microsoft outlook and send as email works until GPO changes the settings back

HKLM\Software\clients\mail\microsoft outlook Settings:

DLLPath: mapi32.dll

DLLpatchEX: C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~1\Office14\OLMAPI32.DLL

Did something change between Adobe Reader 11 and Reader DC with the way it uses MAPI ? Does Reader DC not need this outlook64bridge workaround ?

Those command lines "should" work.

Here is another option, if you want to try all in one

msiexec.exe /i C:\Users\labuser\Desktop\AdobeReaderDC\AcroRdrDC1500720033_en_US.msi /Update C:\Users\labuser\Desktop\AdobeReaderDC\AcroRdrDCUpd1901020091.msp

Note, you will need to add the Tranform=AcroRd.MST, the property LEAVE_PDFOWNERSHIP=YES and switch /qb

Acrobat 2017 Pro Fails to automatically upgrade with 1706 error

We have Acrobat pro 2017 here installed for about 150 users.  We deployed the 2017.008.30051 version and used the Customization wizard (CustWiz1502020039_en_US_DC) to dial in many settings for the software (we created a transform file that does this and it works well).  We originally had deployed the software with the upgrade disabled, but have since decided we would like to get automatic updates enabled.   We found the appropriate registry settings to get that process started:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM]
"iLogLevel"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\2017]
"Check"=dword:00000001
"Mode"=dword:00000003

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\2017\FeatureLockDown]
"bUpdater"=dword:00000001

We have tested this on the 008.30051 version, as well as the .011.30096 version, but have found that though the update process starts, it fails out claiming no valid source file could be found.   From the ARM service logs, I can see the update fails with a 1706 error after it downloads the current upgrade file for adobe 2017 (Acrobat2017Upd1701130127.msp) and at least makes an attempt to execute it.   Our goal is to get the 150 installs that are deployed successfully upgrading to the current version of Adobe without having to manually upgrade each one, and keep that automated process in place going forward.    We can push out those group policies easily, but we are missing something else since after repeated testing, we keep ending up in the same boat.

Other things we know:

-these installs will upgrade successfully if you manually check for updates within Acrobat

-using the downloaded .msp file will also successfully upgrade the 2017 installs (that file is not corrupt)

-Arm is running at: Adobe ARM 1.824.31.1644

Below is the chunk of the Adobe Arm log where it fails to upgrade:
