Re-posting:

Hi, please help me in suppressing First popup (not welcome screen) as shown below. It says something like " Check out the new Acrobat Reader DC" and has "Start tour" button on it. I would like to suppress this via registry settings since  I am packaging this for enterprise distribution.

I have added following registry key for welcome screen which is working and Suppressing the welcome screen I hope, but need to suppress the following . Thanks in advance.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\FeatureLockDown]

"bShowWelcomeScreen"=dword:00000000

Acrobat Pro 2017 (Classic) "Your trial has expired"

We're having some issues with licencing for Acrobat Pro 2017 (Classic) on our Remote Desktop Server (Windows Server 2012 R2)

It was installed in March and has been OK up until about a week ago, it's now giving a message stating the trial has expired. There were 5 licences purchased (Transactional Licencing Program) and the product was originally licenced and activated with the serial number provided for us in the Adobe LWS portal.

I've tried signing in and activating. I've uninstalled Acrobat, run the Acrobat clean up tool, rebooted the server and reinstalled. I've run then Acrobat Customization Wizard, added the serial number and enabled the Offline Exception. Users no longer are prompted to sign in but it's still stuck in a trial state. I've also tried to serialize it through the APTEE utility which seems to complete with a return code of 0 but still has the same issue.

Not really sure what to try next, hopefully someone here is able to assist.

Acrobat Reader DC proxy popup

$

Hi all, we have recently upgraded to reader DC and we are now getting a proxy popup when we go to save, print and sometimes open PDF's.  we use messagelabs for our web filtering and it's that that's blocking whatever URL it's trying to connect to.  I found this page and whitelisted all the acrobat services URL's, still the popup appeared

Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints

*.acrobat.com

*.echosign.com

*.echocdn.com

*.bam.nr-data.net

*.newrelic.com

Required by Adobe Acrobat services

I re-installed adobe reader using the customisation tool, disabling all online services and features....popup was still happening.

I then installed wireshark and saw it was trying to connect to https://files.acrobat.com.  i whitelisted that URL and it's STILL appearing.  My boss is really getting on at me to get it fixed but i don't know where to turn to next.  Googling it bring up loads of people with the same issue but i can't find an answer.

Can anyone help? anyone managed to resolve this?

thanks

Re: How to Silently uninstall Acrobat 2015 using command line and either AcroReaderTool or Acrobat Uninstaller on a Mac

$

It appears that with newer versions of Acrobat, the "Remover Tool" binary does not exist anymore.  For example, in the 2017 version of Acrobat, the "Acrobat Uninstaller.app" is now in "/Applications/Adobe Acrobat 2017/Adobe Acrobat.app/Contents/Helpers" and "Acrobat Uninstaller.app/Contents/MacOS" doesn't have a "Remover Tool", just "Acrobat Uninstaller".

As peterf42877668 mentions, trying the same pattern of running "Acrobat Uninstaller" as in the "Remover Tool" example doesn't work.  Is there a silent command-line way to uninstall newer versions of Adobe Acrobat?  This would be very handy to know for hands-off administration of Macs.

Acrobat X Pro will not start after installing Windows 10 1803 update + on multiple machines.

Computers on the network are running Windows 10 pro update 1803-1809 build 17763.55.  The 1803 update was recently pushed to test machines on the network.  After the update was installed we noticed that adobe reader dc, adobe x pro and adobe touch was not loading.  When we start the application nothing would happen.  The acrobat.exe process and the acrord.exe process would start for a few seconds in task manager but would then just disappear.  Additionally, the below error message would be recorded every time the app was attempting to be open.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled each application.  I have also used the adobe clean-up tool.  I also tested the same programs on a freshly imaged machine after all windows updates were installed.  I have removed the machine from the domain and attempted to install it with no resolution.  The computers that are still on update 1709 and below are still able to use these products without issue.  Any help would be appreciated.

Does the Mode Reg key uncheck the Automatic Updates box in Preferences?

Enterprise environment and we're setting the Mode key under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Adobe ARM\Legacy\(product name)\(product code) to 0 to prevent download and updating of Acrobat Pro DC.  Even after setting the key I'm still seeing a checkbox next to the Automatic Updates under preferences.  Is this expected behavior?

We still want to manually check for updates so we don't want to hide the option using bUpdater.

I've been referencing the following:  Windows Updates

Thank you and sorry for my late reply!

Finally I managed to configure a new preferences file /Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist for the whole system with some success.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"><plist version="1.0"><dict>        <key>2017</key>        <dict>                <key>FeatureLockdown</key>                <dict>                        <key>bUpdater</key>                        <false/>                </dict>        </dict></dict></plist>

I'm not sure if it was all necessary, but I

1.) adjusted privileges to 755  'sudo chmod 755 com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist' and owner to root 'sudo chown root com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist'

2.) converted the plist to binary 'plutil -convert binary1 /Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist'

3.) restarted the Mac to apply the new settings, since just entering 'sudo killall cfprefsd' didn't work for me.

Now, there are no more options for update in the Acrobat Pro GUI in Preferences nor Help Menu.

However, Acrobat Update Helper still tries to connect several times a day to armmf.adobe.com.

If I check /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ARMDC/Registered Products/com.adobe.(product name).(track name).plist for 'UpdateMode', it's already set to 0.

Is there anything else, I can do to get rid of the update call?

Adobe Acrobat DC crashes after installation

Hello.

I'm running Acrobat DC on a Windows 2016 Server with Citrix Virtual Apps 7.15 LTSR. I reinstalled the program, because my users have some problems.

On my first uninstallation I used the appwiz.cpl. After restarting the machine and install the program the App crashes.

Next try: I uses the cleanup utility, reboot the machine and install again. Same crash.

In the third run, I installed the program without a license key. Same problem.

I don't have any idea to solve the problem.

Here are my error messages:

As I indicated in my last statement, we don't want to hide & disable the update option with bUpdater , only make it a manual check only.

Use bUpdater to disable updates.

To use Mode, verify bUpdateris not present on the machine and set Mode as follows:

  • 0: Do not download or install updates automatically.
  • 1: Do not download or install updates automatically. Same as 0.
  • 2: Automatically download updates but let the user choose when to install them.
  • 3: Automatically download and install updates.
  • 4: Notify the user downloads are available but do not download them.

Can you also post the build number of your install?

Hello,

i have printing issues with 19.008.020071v. Printing problems are solved in new 19.008.020074v. I am using Adobe Customization Wizard to configure AdobeDC. In this link for enterpise i can only find older 19.008.020071v Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution  . Where to find latest 19.008.020074v for enterprise?

We've resolved the issue by following the steps listed by user kglad in another forum post:Serial key after trial - not working

Looks like the steps to rename the Adobe PCD and SLStore folders were what we were missing during the first time uninstalling/cleaning/reinstalling.
